Welcome to Chinook Lodge on Keewaydin Island, Lake Muskoka - Olde Muskoka at it's best!
Chinook Lodge is historically rich and offers visitors unprecedented character. As one of the first cottages in the area, the original cottage was built in the late 1800s and has remained within the same family for 4 generations. Many of the Muskoka steamships including the RMS Segwun have docked at this historic location on its' 75' long dock with covered double wide slip. The Cottage has been selected by both the Muskoka Heritage Foundation and the Muskoka Steamship Society as a featured cottage in their tours.
The panoramic south-western exposure has uninterrupted views of stunning sunsets & sunrises - which can be enjoyed on the lake dock and three furnished porches. The 5 bedroom (with ceiling fans) main cottage sleeps nine, plus an additional three twin beds in the bunkie over the dry boathouse, 2 washrooms (two in the main cottage and 1 in the bunkie including a classic) and a cast iron four footed bathtub and two showers. The main cottage also has a convenient front loading washing and drying machine.
The main living space has an original stone front fireplace, a screened-in porch which is ideal for all those summer dinners. Although there’s no TV at the cottage there’s lots of board games, puzzles. Chinook also has reliable high-speed internet. There's fantastic outdoor experiences for everyone including a diving board, kayak, 2 paddle boards, a canoe, lakeside hot tub, full-size shuffleboard court, horseshoe pitch and an island path that goes around all of Keewaydin and an outdoor bonfire by the lake’s edge.
